Prerequisites
You must have "App Builder" access or administrative permissions to modify app fields and settings.
Ensure your work order app already contains a Photo field.
Adding Photos to Individual Records
For small batches of work orders, you can upload reference images manually to individual records.
Open the Record: Navigate to the specific work order record you wish to update.
Locate the Photo Field: Find the designated Photo field within your app layout.
Upload the Image: Select the photo from your local device and upload it directly to the field.
Save the Record: Click the Save button to commit your changes.
Avoid using images containing Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
Bulk Uploading Photos
For larger sets of work orders, use the Importer Tool to streamline the process and save time.
Prepare Your Data: Organize your photos and ensure they are correctly named. Ensure your data file is properly mapped to the corresponding records in your Fulcrum app.
Access the Importer Tool: Navigate to the import section of your Fulcrum organization.
Upload and Map: Upload your data file and map the image references to the appropriate Photo field in your app.
Execute Import: Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the bulk upload.
Setting Permissions for Photo Fields
To maintain data integrity and prevent accidental deletion by field users, configure the permissions for your Photo field.
Access App Settings: Open the app builder for your work order app.
Configure Field Settings: Locate the Photo field and open its properties.
Enable Read-Only: Set the field to Read-Only after the images are uploaded. This ensures that field technicians can view the images while preventing them from editing or deleting the reference material.
Expected Outcome
Once these steps are completed, your work orders will include the necessary visual references. Field technicians will be able to view these images within the app, providing the necessary context to complete their tasks accurately and efficiently
