How to use Audio FastFill on the Fulcrum mobile app

  1. Instead of filling out a form manually, select the FastFill button on the bottom navigation to initiate a voice dictation.
    ​

  2. Record audio. Tap the send button when you are finished.

  3. The recorded audio will be used to fill in the record.

  4. You may record audio for the same record as many times as you want to fill in additional information.


Admin controls

Admins can enable or disable Audio FastFill within the 'Advanced' settings of the App Builder.

  1. Select 'Advanced' in the App Builder
    ​

  2. Check or uncheck the Audio FastFill setting to enable or disable Audio FastFill for that app.
    ​

  3. Save the setting change

  4. Then, save the app

When Audio FastFill is disabled, users will not see the FastFill button when creating or editing records for that app.

Using Audio FastFill with Repeatables (child records)

You can use Audio FastFill to complete repeatable records from the create/edit repeatable view. However, from the parent record, you cannot create or edit repeatable (child) records using Audio FastFill, as your audio recording will only populate the parent record.

Using Audio FastFill with Linked Records

You can use Audio FastFill to fill in linked records after tapping to create or edit a linked record. From the parent record, your Audio FastFill will only fill in the parent record.

Translation capabilities

Audio FastFill will work with users speaking in multiple languages. For example, the feature is able to correctly translate and associate words spoken in one language to choicelist items in another language. Text fields, however, are typically filled using the spoken language.

Ensure your OS Primary Language is set to the language you plan to use with the FastFill feature. Example: if you want to speak Spanish while using the feature, your Primary Language setting should be Spanish in your OS settings.

Security

Fulcrum uses AI as part of the Audio FastFill feature while prioritizing customer data privacy. We utilize on-device speech to text through the mobile operating system to produce a transcript. The audio is only used during the transcription process. It never leaves the device and is cleaned up once the transcription is completed. The transcript, along with the form schema, is sent to ChatGPT via the OpenAI API product via API requests. When using the OpenAI API product, inputs or outputs are NOT used to train OpenAI models. Notes/Limits

  • There is a 3,000 character limit on the audio transcripts sent to the Fulcrum server.

  • Older devices with limited processing power may experience poorer performance when utilizing Audio FastFill.
