Symptoms

  • Record titles on the mobile device do not reflect the updated title structure after it has been changed in the app.

  • Newly created or recently edited records show the new title format, but older records continue to display the previous structure.

Cause

This occurs because record titles are stored locally on the mobile device according to the title structure defined at the time of record creation or download. When the title structure is updated, existing records on the mobile device are not automatically refreshed since the record title values are stored in the local database.

Resolution

To update existing records to reflect the new record title structure, you will need to reset the record cache and then synchronize the app.

Steps to Resolve

  1. Open the Fulcrum mobile app on your device.

  2. Go to Settings.

  3. Scroll down to the Data Management section.

  4. Tap Reset Records Cache.

    • Note: Resetting the record cache will remove all records and associated attachments from this device that do not have any pending changes.

  5. Once completed, perform a sync to show the latest records with the updated title structure.

    Reset record cache

After performing these steps, all existing records will display titles according to the newly defined structure.

Final Considerations

  • Only records that were downloaded or created before the title structure change are affected.

  • New and edited records created after synchronizing will automatically follow the updated title structure.
