Setting the location of a record
Whenever a record is initially created, Fulcrum captures the GPS location of the mobile device. If the GPS data provided is not accurate enough,
β
Fulcrum will continue to request location data until an adequate accuracy level is acquired.
β
There are times when you may need to move a record's location to a different spot than your current physical location. When this is the case, you can use the Locate option to adjust the record's coordinates.
Steps to Set the Record Location
Follow these steps to manually set or change the location of a record in the Fulcrum for Android app:
Open the Record Editor Begin by opening the record you wish to edit in the record editor screen.
Select the Locate Feature In the lower menu bar of the record editor, tap the Locate icon (which looks like a crosshair).
Set the New Record Location This action will bring you to the "Locate" screen where you can adjust the position.
Manually Enter Coordinates (Optional) If you know the exact coordinates you wish to use, tap on the Coordinates display at the bottom of the screen. A dialog box will appear, allowing you to manually enter the latitude and Longitude values.
βSave the Location Once the desired location is set (either by panning or manual entry), tap the DONE button in the top right, then tap SAVE to apply the new coordinates to the record.
Notes
Location Data Status: You can determine if location data has been successfully provided to Fulcrum by checking the Locate icon in the record editor. If a solid dot is present in the middle of the crosshair, Fulcrum has received location data. If the dot is absent, location data has not yet been received.
