With Esri Maps enabled in the Fulcrum mobile app, you can download areas of Streets or Satellite basemaps for offline use. This ensures you always have access to high-quality maps, even in areas with limited or no internet connectivity.
Note: Only Streets and Satellite are currently supported. Terrain and Hybrid will be available in future releases. For more feature requests or feedback, please share in our forum.
Downloading a Basemap
1. From the Map View, tap the Basemaps & Layers icon.
2. Select Offline Maps → Download New.
3. Choose Streets or Satellite.
4. A download window will appear:
Resize the rectangle by dragging edges or corners to define the area.
Pan and zoom until the window covers your region of interest.
Existing records and reference layers (if enabled) appear faintly for context.
Note: The initial download window opens in the same location you were last viewing on the map and is zoomed to the maximum downloadable area.
5. Tap Download. A progress indicator will appear.
Downloads pause automatically if you lose internet and resume when the connection returns.
You can also manually pause or cancel from the download list.
6. Once complete, the map will appear in your Offline Maps list.
Using Offline Maps
Downloaded basemaps render automatically when offline, no manual selection required.
If you pan or zoom outside a downloaded area, the standard Esri grid background appears.
Offline maps remain available across apps on your device until you delete them or uninstall Fulcrum.
If you select a different basemap type (Hybrid or Terrain) while offline, the downloaded Streets or Satellite maps will not display.

Offline basemaps are not shareable between devices or users.
