Signature fields enable you to capture an electronic signature directly within your Fulcrum app (form). This capability is commonly used during inspections, site surveys, or compliance checks that require sign-off from an auditor, property owner, or other relevant parties.

Key Functionality: Agreement Text

Along with collecting the signature itself, you can configure Agreement Text for the field. This text serves as a disclaimer, agreement, or confirmation language that the person must acknowledge before providing their signature.

Here is an example of the field setup on the mobile application:

Capturing Signatures on Mobile and Web

The method for capturing a signature varies depending on whether the user is collecting data on the Fulcrum mobile app or the web app.

Mobile Application

When collecting data on the mobile apps (iOS or Android):

  • Tapping on a signature field immediately opens a full-screen signature pad.

  • The user can sign directly using their finger or a stylus.

  • If Agreement Text is configured, it will be prominently displayed on this screen.

Web Application

When creating or editing a record through the Fulcrum web app:

  • The web app does not have a live signature capture capability.

  • Users are instead presented with an option to upload a signature image file (e.g., a .jpg) to fulfill the field requirement.

Notes

  • Agreement Text is limited to approximately five lines of text when displayed on a mobile device. The precise amount of text and the total character limit may vary slightly based on the device's screen size and resolution.

  • When a user taps the signature field on the mobile apps, they are presented with the screen where they can then sign with their finger or stylus.
