The barcodes field type allows you to scan a barcode or QR code to retrieve or store a value automatically.

When the barcode field is tapped, it will display a new view where you can manually enter the code or click the scan button to use your device's camera to capture the code.

Barcode scanning functionality on the device.

Mobile App Record Search

Fulcrum also supports using the barcode scanner within the record search feature on mobile apps to filter records from the mobile application that contain the code.

Supported Barcode Types

Here is the full list of supported barcode types:

  • UPCE

  • Code39

  • Code39Mod43

  • EAN13

  • EAN8

  • Code93

  • Code128

  • PDF417

  • QR

  • Aztec

Notes

  • Bluetooth barcode scanners (list of barcodes) that act as keyboard inputs can also work on Fulcrum's web or mobile apps. Since these scanners act as keyboard input you do not need to use our dedicated barcode fields (you will not be using the camera to capture the code). You can simply use a text or numeric field to capture the code through the Bluetooth scanner that is paired to your device or computer.
