Overview

Fulcrum is designed to simplify team-based data collection and management, offering a faster, more reliable alternative to traditional paper methods. With Fulcrum, multiple users can simultaneously collect data using the same app, ensuring seamless collaboration across your organization.

All collected data is automatically synchronized and merged into the web management interface for easy review. Fulcrum is fully cross-platform, allowing your team to use a mix of iOS and Android devices without compatibility issues.

Adding Team Members

You can add multiple team members to your account through the Members section in your account settings.

Using Projects

Projects allow you to control access within an app, limiting the records that groups of users can view or edit. This ensures that team members only interact with relevant data.

Record Assignment

Record assignment enables fine-grained control over who can edit specific records:

  • Users with the Standard User system role or a custom role without the "assign records" permission will not be able to edit records assigned to other users.

Be careful when assigning records. Users without the necessary permissions cannot modify records assigned to others.

Synchronizing Data

When users collect data in the field, all entries are synchronized when they reconnect to the network.

If network connectivity is limited, encourage team members to sync frequently to avoid conflicts or unsynced records.

Notes

  • Automated conflict prevention merges edits from multiple users wherever possible.

  • Every member is assigned a role within your plan, either a system roles or a custom role. Roles determine the permissions and actions available to each member.

  • Projects can be used to limit which record groups of users can access within an app.

  • Record assignment can be used to restrict access to records. Users with the standard user system role or a custom role without the "assign records" permission will not be able to edit records assigned to other users.
