Acquisition & Continuity

Why did this acquisition happen?

Wildnote was acquired to ensure long-term stability and continued investment in the platform and team. Being part of a larger organization brings more resources while maintaining the product that customers rely on.

Does this mean the Wildnote product is going away?

Eventually, however, Wildnote will continue to be supported for the foreseeable future. Any future changes will be communicated well in advance.

What changes should I expect right now?

None. You can continue using Wildnote exactly as you do today.

Will I eventually have to move to Fulcrum?

Yes, over time, Fulcrum will become the long-term platform. We'll guide and handle the transition for you, with no sudden changes.

What is not changing?

  • Your data

  • Your contracts and pricing (during current term)

  • Your workflows and access

  • The team you work with (including Kristen and Nancy)

Wildnote was built for smaller teams — what does this mean for us?

While Fulcrum is a larger platform, you will still receive support and guidance. The experience may evolve, but you won’t be left on your own during the transition.

Migration & Data

Will I have to transition during my field season?

No. Transitions are planned for after peak field season.

What will happen to our forms, projects, and data?

Forms and selected project data will be migrated for you. You’ll review what gets included.

Will we lose any data?

No. All selected data, including older projects, will be preserved.

Will we have to rebuild our forms?

No. Forms will be recreated for you in Fulcrum.

Will we lose access during the transition?

The goal is no meaningful downtime. A clear plan will be shared ahead of time.

How will active projects and reporting be handled?

Migration will be coordinated to avoid disruption to ongoing work and reporting cycles.

Will we get a clear timeline?

Yes. You’ll receive a detailed schedule before migration begins.

Will my data be affected during migration?

No. Your data will remain secure and accessible throughout.

Platform & Training

Will we be trained in Fulcrum?

Yes. Training includes both video and live sessions before your team needs to use it in the field.

How similar is Fulcrum to Wildnote?

Very similar in structure:

  • Forms → Apps

  • Surveys → Records

  • Projects → Same concept

Fulcrum adds more tools without changing the core workflow.

What will Fulcrum look like on day one?

A fully set-up environment with your apps, data, and team already in place.

Will species lists and taxonomy data transfer?

Yes. Fulcrum will include comprehensive species and taxonomy data.

Can we still generate PDF reports?

Yes. Custom PDF reports can be configured to match your current outputs.

Does Fulcrum work offline?

Yes. Full offline capability with automatic syncing.

Can clients access data without a Fulcrum account?

Yes. Data Shares allow access via link (CSV, KML, GeoJSON, or map view).

What about ESRI / ArcGIS integration?

Fulcrum supports strong GIS integration, including live data feeds and mapping.

Support & Contacts

Will my price remain the same?

Yes, for the duration of your current contract.

Will I still get the same level of support?

Yes. You’ll continue working with the same team.

Will Kristen and Nancy remain?

Yes, both will continue supporting customers.

Do I need to do anything right now?

No. Continue using Wildnote as usual.

Who should I contact with questions?

Continue using your current support channels.
