How do I edit my ArcGIS Feature Service Layers on Web?

Edit features (attributes and/or geometries) in your ArcGIS Feature Service Layer

This guide explains how to edit feature service layers from ArcGIS within Fulcrum.

Before making edits, ensure you meet the following requirements:

  • You have an ArcGIS license that permits data editing.

  • The feature service is configured as editable.

  • You have the necessary permissions to edit the specific feature service layer.

Available for Elite and Enterprise plans only.

Connect to ArcGIS

Before you can edit your feature service layer, you must first login to ArcGIS from Fulcrum and enable your layer. Learn how here.

Editing your Feature Service Layer

With your layer enabled, click on a feature to display the attribute window.

Entering Edit Mode

Click the 'Edit Feature' button in the top of the attribute window.

You will then be in 'Edit Mode'.

Editing Attributes

You can now edit of the available fields in the feature window, as well as the feature's geometry.

Editing Geometry

Initially the geometry will be selected and you can move, scale or rotate the geometry.

Clicking the geometry again allows you to edit the individual vertices, as well as add midpoints.

Clicking on the geometry again will return you to the move, scale and rotate mode.

Saving, Canceling and Deleting

To save your changes, click 'Update' in the feature window.

To discard your changes, click the back arrow in the top left corner of the feature window.

To delete your feature, click the 'Delete' button at the of the feature window.

You will be presented with a warning dialog.

If you delete the feature, it will be deleted in ArcGIS. This action can not be undone. Proceed with caution.
