The label is basically the title of the field. The label is what is displayed on the mobile and web apps for the field, meaning that labels are what is presented to the data collector or user when they are entering data into a field.
Labels don't have to be unique among different fields, which means that multiple fields can have the same label. The Data Name is what is used to differentiate between Fields with the same Label.
Labels are available for all field types and it is always the first option in the field configuration box.
